1 - behaviour_N532.csv. 
The file contains the eight descriptors of the tadpole spatial behavior, obtained from the semi-automatic 
analyses of 266 video recordings. In each video, there were two tadpoles, thus the file has 532 records.
 DISPL: the between-frame average displacement (DISPL); 
CD: the mean distance from the cage; 
bTD: the mean distance between the two tadpoles 
REST: the portion of frames during which the tadpole was resting 
mMD: the mean of movement durations
vMD: the varianceof movement durations
CP: cage proximity (CP)
WD: the average distance from the arena wall
PC1: first principal component
PC2: second principal component
PC3: third principal component
The file contains 13 variables, which describe the case:
FILE_NAME: the name of the txt file that contains the spatial coordinates obtained from the video analyses
RASPBERRY: the alphanumeric code of the raspberry used in the video-recording
RASP: the numeric code of the raspberry
FAMILY_treat: the code of the basket where the tadpoles were raised, 
FAMILY: the combined identity of the mother (first letter) and the father (number) 
MOTHER: the mother
FATHER: the father
TREAT: the ontogenetic treatment (N = no predator; P = predator)
REPL: the number of the replicate (either 1 or 2)
TADPOLE: the number randomly assigned to each of the two tadpoles recorded during a single trial.
QUARTET: the quartet from the incomplete factorial design (1: with mothers E and F and with fathers 5 
and; 2: with mothers R and S and fathers 16 and 17)

2 - behaviour_N64.csv
Derived from behaviour_N532.csv, by averaging over 32 experimental units in the two treatments. The 
identifying variables are the same of behaviour_N532.csv, whereas:
ACTIVITY is the by-FAMILY_treat average  of PC1
POSITION is the by-FAMILY_treat average of PC2

3 – morphology_froglets.csv
Morphometric variables of the 232 tadpoles that completed metamorphosys: snout-vent lengths (SVL), 
elbow-to-elbow distance (EtoE), femur length (FemL), tibia length (TL), and foot length (FootL). With the 
exception of EtoE, all the other traits were measured from the ventral and dorsal pictures and their 
averages were computed. Body size was the first principal component extracted from the correlation 
matrix of these log-transformed morphometric traits.

4 – tailshape(PC1).csv
PC1 of the Procrustes coordinates of the 155 tadpoles, whose pictures have been analyzed with geomorph.

The file contains the counting of tadpoles that were swimming or resting within the rearing baskets.
