In this folder you'll find code for the R package MicroMiss found in:

“Analyzing Microbiome Data with Taxonomic Misclassification using a Zero-Inflated Dirichlet-Multinomial Model”, by MD Koslovsky

The main functions operate in C++ via the R package Rcpp.

This package relies on various R packages that need to be installed in the R environment before running. To install, use the install.packages(‘’) command for the following packages:
Rcpp
RcppArmadillo
MCMCpack
mvtnorm
devtools

Then to install the MicroMiss package, navigate the folder's directory, and simply run

devtools::build()
devtools::install()

in the R console. Future iterations will make this code available on the author's github.

The proposed MicroMissS model with sparsity-inducing priors is designed for exploratory research settings in which researchers are interested in generating hypotheses for the relation between microbial taxa and a set of (potential high-dimensional) observed covariates. In more confirmatory settings, we recommend using the MicroMiss method for inference. Regardless of the research objectives, we strongly recommend performing thorough sensitivity analyses to understand the impact of prior specification on inference.
